WHEN A FIRE STARTS TO BURN
Change is typically a slow process. Something you work at over time in order to complete, and usually doesn't occur unless you work at it with absolute ferocity. Very rarely does change happen all at once, and when it does, it's one hundred percent combustible. As Dystopia went off the air, we saw the beginning of a blaze. The start of an infernal that is sure to last an eternity. The very movement that World Champion Havoc, and Jada Blaire, have started in WWH has spread once again. Although we've seen this before, there's something that feels a little different, something exciting, something ignitable.
Before the visual kicks in, all you can hear is a crunching sound that echoes. It sounds as if someone is stepping through leaves that have fallen in the wind. When the visual does kick in, oddly enough it's not someone walking through leaves that we encounter, but rather, Siren standing by herself. She's got her arms outstretched, her eyes closed, and tilted up towards the sky. The scene takes place in a large open field, with various trees on the side. Lying before her, maybe six feet in front of her, is a book. You can see it's black cover beneath it, as it lies flipped open. The camera is too far away to pick up if there's anything written on the specific page that Siren has it flipped to.
"What ever are you doing out here?"
The shot widens, and we're given the vision of who was walking through the leaves. Off to the side, walking under numerous trees, and stepping directly upon any leaf she can, Sierra Rot makes her presence known. She walks a little closer to where Siren is standing, though she still has a bit of a distance to travel.
Siren announces, though she doesn't move a muscle as she says it. She remains completely calm, eyes still closed, arms still outstretched, and her head still tilted towards the sky. Sierra looks around at the vast emptiness surrounding her.
"What is it that you're waiting for?"
"You know...the moment."
Was all that Siren muttered, remaining in the exact position she had been in the entire time. Again, Sierra looked around, now closer to Siren, but again found nobody. Sierra walked forward to where the book lie, and the camera gets closer. In seeing the pages, it's now clear that the book doesn't have anything written in it at all. The pages are completely blank. However, now that the camera is so close, it's also easier to see that there is a brown liquid on the book. Sierra reaches into her pocket and pulls out a match book, lighting it and watching the flame for only a moment before tossing it on the book. It immediately goes up in flames.
"There you are. I knew you'd come."
Siren finally opens her eyes, smiling down at the flames. You may have guessed the liquid to be something flammable, and you'd be right! Siren becomes ecstatic, clapping her hands and taking off into the field in the background. Sierra is now center stage.
“Why hello again WWH. No, I don't think we owe you a damn thing, but we did make quite a splash on the last Dystopia by announcing our presence. You see, Havoc and Jada simply follow a message that speaks to us, a movement that resonates within our very souls. You've seen it before, followers making themselves known, and now you've seen it again. When Siren and I showed up earlier in the night, we warned each and every one of you of what was on the horizon. RAGNAROK believe it's their gods that will triumph in this war, and that arrogance will be paid for in blood. Mark my words."
Her eyes narrow towards the camera as she speaks.
"But first, we've been given our very first roadblock. And yes, roadblock IS what I'm going to call it. Here's why.
I've always been the kind of girl that was good at school. I sat back, I read my books, and everyone thought I was just the quiet girl in the corner. I'm sure you're looking at me wondering what I've done to end up in a place like this. While everyone thought I was playing make believe in books, I was actually learning from the past, from novels, from anything and everything. I use the knowledge I have, and transfer it into straight power. All of this is to say that I've done my homework on you, Jacob Striker, as well as you, Uiriami Minami. I know exactly who you are."
Sierra Rot points to the camera, nodding along, because she knew the two boys would be shaking their heads in opposition. She'd never even met them, how could she know them. Siren is seen every so often dipping in and out of frame.
"Jacob Striker. Such an interesting case, you always seem to be near the top of the card, but are never able to walk out with a suitable win or championship. If you were a female, you would have a certain proverb thrust upon you - always the bridesmaid, never the bride. Just this past Dystopia, you missed your chance in the International Title tournament when you lost out to Renee Jonae. I suppose I can't fault you for falling to a strong woman, but what are you to do when you're up against TWO strong women in Siren and myself? Before that, you were victim to both Renee, and the best wrestler within the WWH - our movement brother - Havoc. I suppose I couldn't fault you there either, you simply had no chance. But I thought, hey, how about I see what Striker can REALLY do, and I find a match he managed to have his hand raised in..."
Sierra brings up her right hand and looks at it, as if she's written cheat codes on her arm. At least, something along those lines, she's definitely written the date of Striker's last win on her arm.
"January 19th, your one and only win this entire year so far. I know a lot of people have had a pretty bad 2020, but yours seems to take the cake, Jacob. Now I know that you aren't the only person that's going to be standing on the other side of the ring, Jake. I know full well you have a partner, and a tag team only works as well as the duo does. So obviously, I had to look into your partner as well, because Minami wasn't about to escape the grasp of my knowledge."
In the distance, you can see Siren stop tumbling, just to look at the camera and shake her finger. It's almost as if Sierra knows it's being done, because she follows it up with a giggle.
"I certainly found things a little more interesting as far as Minami is concerned. He had won his last few matches, and seemed to be impressive enough in them. Given, I'm unsure on the caliber of opponent he was facing, but beat them he did. He was definitely the more promising of the two, until I reached that January 19th match again. You know, the same where Jacob Striker last had his hand raised? It was a tag match, against Minami himself! Not only that, but you were the one that Jacob managed to pin, weren't you, Minami? You were the ONLY person this year that Striker managed to pull a three count off of. How does that make you feel?"
She paused, expecting an answer though we all know Minami is not here and can not answer for himself. After waiting for a bit, she shrugs her shoulders and continues on.
"But of course I had one more factor to consider didn’t I? As said previously, a team is only as strong as they are together, not separately. Siren and I have been together for years now, what about Striker and Minami? I couldn’t see a time when they were partners, but of course I found certain matches when they were against each other in tag matches. I think it’s certain you two were on opposite sides of the ring far more times than you were on the same side, and because of that I have to question if you two are going to have what it takes, as a single unit, to defeat Siren and I.”
Siren is seen in the back again, now hacking away at a tree with her deadly kicks. Sierra remains facing forward, not paying attention to it though she must at least hear what is going on.
“There's a side of me that wants to write you two out completely - a side of me that looks at the cold hard facts and knows this will indeed be our first win within WWH. But then, there's a different side of me that believes Siren's method is the way to go.
Siren doesn't care one way or another about the matches I've watched, the knowledge I've uncovered. Siren looks at each and every opponent the exact same. You could be the World Champion, or a brand new signee having their first match within the wrestling industry. Siren looks across the ring and sees a face only, a face she knows she's going to kick no matter what. So for this match, that's what I choose to do. Screw all the statistics of a win-loss record and displayed experience, I know full well you could just as easily pull out the win - whether I'd believe it to be an upset win or not, you'd still have the win. However, if I choose to treat you the same as I would someone I respect, and compete at the same level across the board - well, then we can't lose can we? That's exactly why our partnership works so well, we both come from different perspectives, but together it works into one cohesive unit. An unstoppable one, if I say so."
It's here that Siren rejoins Sierra in the middle of the frame, the camera ducking below to include the small flames from the book that are still somehow burning. In fact, it didn't seem to be going out anytime soon.
"Siren is the yin to my yang. Together, we were already a divine force, but together with the rest of the Movement? I'd say times are about to change WWH, and you managed to catch a glimpse of that as Dystopia went off the air. If Striker and Minami think they can take us? Then by all means, I invite them to try. If RAGNAROK think they can take us, then I invite them to try, as well. But know that our cause is about to gain more steam than it has before, and together - brothers and sisters - we WILL prevail!"

(The screen fades in and we see both Uiriamu Minami and Jacob Striker in their respective street clothes, walking around one of the partially demolished areas of Night City. Uri has a slightly bemused look on his face while Jake has a more neutral look)
Uri: Dreamscape, two of the true rising stars in professional wrestling and of this very company is forced to be regulated to the second match on the card because of the ever dwindling egos of those who have either never deserved nor earned the spotlights given to them.
But you see, we’re fine with that because you see Jake and I, we’re cut from a different cloth than a lot of these other wrestlers and that includes our opponents in Sierra Riot and Siren...but unlike those two ladies, Jake and I have a tremendous advantage in that while Sierra and Siren have only recently started teaming together, me and Jake have been a team our entire lives because you see, we’ve been teaming up since preschool and as such, we have got this on lockdown.
(Uri stops and runs a hand through his short black hair, giving the camera his usual smug little grin as he does so)
Uri: I mean a lot of teams lay claim to being able to know the inside of each other’s head all across the entirety of this sport including teams like the Diamond Dogs, Ragnarok, and even our good friends in the Dynamic Duo…
(At the mention of the Duo, Jake’s face twitches into a flash of anger that is directed at Uri before he schools himself again as he shakes his head)
Uri: And don’t get me wrong, Serenity and Jocelyn are best friends and they know what each other can do in that ring, but they lack the kind of history that Jake and I have, the kind of *synergy* that we have from having grown up next to each other because when we were kids, I grew up with my house facing his and our two other mutual best friends in Ryo Sakazaki and Robert Garcia to either side of us as well...so when I say that the level of synergy that Jake and I have is unmistakably great, then you can take that to the bank.
Can our opponents truly say the same?
Can Sierra look over at Siren and in that nano second of an instant, Siren know *EXACTLY* what she needs to do to hit a tandem move with Sierra to put myself or my partner down?
I don’t think so.
Because no matter what, our opponents can’t even begin to top what we have accomplished in this sport to date and that is the solid truth.
(Uri moves aside as the camera then refocuses in on Jacob, who is shaking his head once more)
Jacob: Uri is not one to mince words or hide how he feels about a situation, he never has and never will because he is a rarity in this day and age when people never say what they actually mean, Uri is the kind of man who means *exactly* what he says.
Furthermore, he is an utter paragon of patience.
I am not on the other hand and to be fair, I think that I’ve been more than fair with this company as I have stated several times in recent history that I wanted my shot at the little wolf, Fenrir, and the Affliction championship...but instead the powers that be put me in a tournament match against Renee Jonae for a chance at the International championship and now Renee is strutting around like some kind of fucking prized poodle at some dog show.
(Jacob looks over at Uri who rolls his eyes and makes a “go ahead” motion at his friend)
Jacob: Renee, I hate to be the one to break this to you but I let you win our match last week.
I allowed you to have that little victory because unlike you, I know *EXACTLY* what I want and what I want is the Affliction championship pure and simple. I’ve had my eyes set on that prize since day fucking one of being in this company.
Uri: That you did, my brother!
Jacob: But instead of giving me the chances that I wanted, they kept putting minor little roadblocks in my way and the front office made sure to keep me away from Fenrir.
(The “Natural” gives the camera a wicked smile)
Jacob: But not anymore, if I have to get in between Fenrir and Hades at Dreamscape just to prove a bloody point then don’t think that I won’t because I’m hungry and ready for war, unlike those two never beens.
And that is where mine and Uri’s opponents come in, because the start of every great campaign beings with a single bloody step and that’s where Riot and Siren come into the picture and Riot, I can fully understand a need to show to the boys in the front office what you can do on your own but at Dreamscape, you and your little friend have been given one hell of a challenge in myself and Uri, and yes I caught your little thing about my win loss record here in this company and again, I don’t give two shits about it.
So you can forget about your half assed attempts to get under my skin, Sierra, because it won’t work and Rene is not some kind of great wrestler because if I had really wanted to go after the international title, then I would’ve gladly broken her left arm to make an example of my desire to win.
But then again here in the World Wrestling Headquarters, it’s not actually about talent because if it was, then Renee would’ve never become women’s champion in the first place because she just can’t hack it in the ring.
Uri: At the very heart of the matter, when everything is said and done at Dreamscape this weekend, is that Jacob and I are going to be taking the pinfall victory over Riot and the Siren, and there is not a goddamned thing that anyone can do to stop that from happening.
We have the pure talent and the raw desire to make our victory a reality, plus we have the true *HUNGER* needed to take whatever the hell that we want...and at Dreamscape, we’re going to ravage a couple of third rate ham and eggers right before we take what rightfully belongs to us.
Oh and Riot, before you go and start trying to get your facts together in your next match, might I suggest that you go out there and do some actual fucking research because Jake here has done much more impressive things across the world of professional wrestling in these past two months than you have in your entire fucking career.
So come and join us at the pay per view, Riot and Siren, and we can promise you both a master class in being ripped to shreds by your superiors.
